Description/Comments
Featured in Starpoint Cafe at Chinatown Courtyard-3/7/2008

Luke Thompson Graduated from Mass Art in 1996 with a BFA in Painting. During his college years he studied classical painting techniques and wrote graffiti in Boston. At his senior show he exhibited multi-media pieces, from 8' paintings of nudes to a Graffiti style scene of his future home in Brooklyn, New York.

Luke's work has been shown in many NYC Galleries and Art Shows including Sparky's Gallery L.E.S., The first Animal Magazine Art Show, Mid-Atlantic Surf Expo Art Show in Brooklyn, Burton Snowboard's Showroom in SoHo. With an ocean-bound turn of inspiration, Thompson relocated to an environment conducive to the surfing lifestyle.

A resident of Hawaii since 2004, Luke's work has become increasingly influenced by the ocean and island landscape, including recent paintings featuring fern and hibiscus stencils. Luke also began 100%, a one-of-a kind clothing company, with creations inspired by the islands and the artist's current paintings. 100% is now available at 2gruvs in Puck's Alley, and Queens The Candy Shop on Queen St. in Kakakko.
