      Sunday, May 3 from 3-5 p.m. in the first floor Studio 1C
Join us for Sunday Sessions with Three of Us, featuring Nate Hatico, Katy Furuya & Brian Ishii! They'll be playing some classics and some lesser-known gems for your Sunday afternoon vibe.

      This event, hosted in partnership with
      Guitar Foundation of Hawaii, is FREE and open to the public, but donations are welcomed!





      

HEART of Honolulu Street Festival 2026

      *POSTPONED to Saturday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Save the date for our next HEART of Honolulu Street Festival! We invite artists and arts organizations to take to the streets, as we shut down Nuuanu Avenue in Chinatown and open it to pedestrian traffic for everyone to experience and enjoy the HEART of the Chinatown Arts District, including art, live music, food, creative local vendors, performances and more.

The DAC Unbirthday Party

      Sunday, May 17 from 2-4 p.m. in the DAC Classroom, $20 per person. 
Celebrate the magic of transformation at this whimsical afternoon event inspired by butterflies. Walk the red carpet into a vibrant gathering featuring live music by local band ESD (Every Single Day), creative art activities, and complimentary pizza, cookies, and tea. Browse the galleries, try a bilateral butterfly drawing, make a wish on melting paper, and take home a little surprise. A joyful experience for all ages, made possible by the generous support of Nohea Gallery, J. Dolan's, the Guitar Foundation of Hawaii, and Aloha Graphics.

DAC Walking Tour: Art, History & Architecture in the HEART of Honolulu

      Upcoming Tour Dates:-Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.Meeting Place: Downtown Art Center, 1041 Nuuanu Ave (Chinatown Gateway Plaza building) Second Floor Main Gallery/Lobby
$20 per person, limit 20 people per tour.
Downtown Art Center (DAC) offers a unique way to experience the historical and artistic heritage of the HEART district of downtown Honolulu with this walking tour, led by Historian Gary R. Coover, author of "Pocket Walking Tour of Honolulu's Royal Mile,” and veteran artist and educator Susan Hogan.

DAC Storytelling Night with Special Guest Dean Carrico

      Saturday, May 16 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the DAC 2nd Floor Classroom, $10 per person.
Dean Carrico has been many things in his life: a punk musician, a journalist, and most notably, a bartender. For quite a while now, he has entertained his social media followers and friends with wild and hilarious stories about what he has seen, heard, and experienced while slinging drinks in Waikiki over the past 20 years. The author of "Dean’s List: Conversations with a 6am Bartender," his acid wit and unlikely tales are sure to amuse.

      Sunday, May 24 in the 2nd floor Classroom, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. FREE and open to the public!

Join Quirky Crafters for a fun day with friends, as you shop from a curated collective of local crafters, while also helping to support local charities!

First Fridays at DAC (Every First Friday of the Month)
Every First Friday evening of the month, DAC joins other creative organizations in the Chinatown Arts District with special art activities, performances, make & take crafting projects, exhibition opening receptions, artist meet & greets, and more!

Sunday Sessions Live Music (Every First Sunday of the month)
Every First Sunday of the month, DAC and Guitar Foundation of Hawaii, led by veteran music coordinator and musician Terry Oyama, team up to host live music by different local bands and musicians. These performances are FREE and open to the public! Refreshments available from the DAC donation bar.
