City Announces New Year's Day Holiday Schedule

City announces New Year's Day holiday schedule
HONOLULU -- Due to the upcoming holiday, some offices in the City and County of Honolulu will be closed while others will operate on an adjusted schedule Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, to observe New Year's Day.
The holiday schedule is as follows:
- Emergency medical services, fire, lifeguard, medical examiner, and police services will be available.
- TheBus will operate on a Sunday schedule. Visit thebus.org for route and schedule information as well as rider guidelines.
- The Skyline will operate on a city holiday schedule, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit honolulu.gov/skyline for rider information.
- Refuse will NOT be collected and transfer stations, convenience centers, H-POWER, and the WaimÄnalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill will be closed. Visit honolulu.gov/opala for information.
- Botanical gardens will be closed. Visit honolulu.gov/parks for park use guidelines.
- The Ala Wai, Ź»Ewa Villages and Ted Makalena Golf Courses will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. for 18-hole play and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for 9-hole play, but the Kahuku, Pali and West Loch Golf Courses will be closed. Visit honolulu.gov/des/golf for revised information.
- The Honolulu Zoo will be open. Visit honolulu.gov/zoo for information.
- Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve will be closed.
- The Neal S. Blaisdell Center box office will be closed. Visit blaisdellcenter.com for information.
- People's Open Markets will not be held.
- All satellite city halls and driver licensing centers will be closed.
The following traffic and parking regulations will be in effect:
- On-street parking will be free, except for the meters on KalÄkaua Avenue along Queen Kapiāolani Park, metered parking lots, and meters on specific WaikÄ«kÄ« streets. View the list of WaikÄ«kÄ« streets here.
- Traffic lanes will not be coned for contraflow.
