Requisite precautions to mitigate disease transmission during the meeting will be enforced by the sergeant at arms. If you are not comfortable attending the meeting in person, the Neighborhood Commission website accepts written testimony readily, as described in the boxed information at the foot of this agenda document.

To maintain meeting efficiency, persons within the gallery wishing to speak aloud regarding items on the agenda below must make all reasonable efforts to queue with appropriate distancing near the guest microphone before the prior speaker has completed his or her presentation or statements. Alternative means of submitting questions without approaching the microphone are available; please be mindful of advisements about such by the Chair.

When recognized by the Chair, advance from the queue, approach the microphone while following distancing precautions, and avoid touching or adjusting the microphone. Kindly address your comments to the Chair; speakers are afforded up to two (2) minutes on any agenda item unless otherwise directed by the Chair.

A. Discussion regarding a potential new venue for arts/music festivals off of the streets of Chinatown but still in the Chinatown district/area: Mayor Rick Blangiardi & Managing Director Mike Formby

C. Police Week - ÔWalk for the Fallen': Street closures from HPD Main Station on Beretania Street to Richards Street from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023: Sergeant Darryl Jones

Motion - To support (1) Painting a mural in Smith Beretania Park (a wall behind the basketball court and the 2 basketball court backboards), and (2) Heart of Honolulu Street Festival on Nuuanu Ave from Chaplain Lane to Hotel Street, King Street, and to Pauahi Street, ( blocks on either side of Nuuanu Avenue) event is from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023: Sandra Pohol

E. Motion - To support the Fort Street Mall Affordable Senior Rentals 201H Application: Isaiah Sato

F. HPU 2023 Crime and the Chinatown-Downtown Neighborhood: Professor Jennifer Merkel

G. Resolution - Urging the HawaiÔi State Legislature to enact comprehensive tobacco regulations and end the epidemic of youth e-cigarette use: Theresa NG (Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Hawaii's Youth Council)

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS

A. The Downtown-Chinatown Neighborhood Board No.13 is scheduled to hold their next meeting on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the Ke'elikolani Middle School Cafeteria.

B. lelo - Rebroadcasts of Downtown-Chinatown Neighborhood Board No. 13 meetings are scheduled on lelo channel 49 for every third Thursday at 9:00 p.m., as well as 6:00 a.m. on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
