Requisite precautions to mitigate disease transmission during the meeting will be enforced by the sergeant at arms. If you are not comfortable attending the meeting in person, the Neighborhood Commission website accepts written testimony readily, as described in the boxed information at the foot of this agenda document.

To maintain meeting efficiency, persons within the gallery wishing to speak aloud regarding items on the agenda below must make all reasonable efforts to queue with appropriate distancing near the guest microphone before the prior speaker has completed his or her presentation or statements. Alternative means of submitting questions without approaching the microphone are available; please be mindful of advisements about such by the Chair.

When recognized by the Chair, advance from the queue, approach the microphone while following distancing precautions, and avoid touching or adjusting the microphone. Kindly address your comments to the Chair; speakers are afforded up to two (2) minutes on any agenda item unless otherwise directed by the Chair.

III. NEW BUSINESS / PRESENTATIONS (10 minutes each)

A. Chinatown 808 "Night In Chinatown" Festival & Parade - Leonard Kam

i. Street closure on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Street closed on Beretania from Aala Street to Maunakea Street.

B. Chinese Chamber of Commerce Chinese New Year's Event - Leonard Kam

i. The event will be held on Friday, January 13, 2022. Street closure will begin prior to start time of 6:00 p.m. King Street will be closed from just before 6:00 p.m. until approximately 7:30 p.m. Busses will be re-routed to Nimitz. Surrounding streets from River, N. Beretania, and Bethel will be closed from 6:00 p.m. until possibly 10:00 p.m. Hotel Street will be closed from 7:00 p.m. and buses traveling in the Ewa direction will be re-routed to Beretania and buses traveling in the Diamond Head direction will be re-routed to Nimitz. Nuuanu will remain open while King Street is closed. Once King Street reopens, Nuuanu will close. Additional event at the Chinatown Cultural Plaza January 13-14, 2022.

F. Resolution: Urging the Hawai'i State Legislature to convene a special session to address community concerns over public safety, government waste, and statutory inconsistency in felony prosecutions as a result of the State v. Obrero decision

A. The Downtown-Chinatown Neighborhood Board No.13 is recessing their regular meeting in January 2023. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

B. lelo - Rebroadcasts of Downtown-Chinatown Neighborhood Board No. 13 meetings are scheduled on lelo channel 49 for every third Thursday at 9:00 p.m., as well as 6:00 a.m. on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
