A new review in
the journal Leonardo surveys the catalog accompanying The John Young Museum of Art's Fall 2020 show, Networks, Collaboration and Resistance in/between Portugal and Brazil, 1962-1982: Works from the Arquivo Fernando Aguiar and the Coleção Moraes-Barbosa. Leonardo calls the 151-page publication "well-illustrated and elegantly designed" and "excellently edited," noting that the book "helps raise fundamental questions on the place of so-called peripheral countries, cultures, and languages in a period of increasing globalization." This book was edited by Dr. Pollack and features work by over 400 writers and artists and an original text by Rui Torres. The publication was the first in the new Mānoa Commons Press imprint series by the John Young Museum, and can be downloaded here. Please contact us here for orders of a hard copy of the catalog.
