  • Downtown Art Center - Call To Artists For The "Architects As Artists" Exhibition At Downtown Art Center


OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS FOR THE “ARCHITECTS AS ARTISTS” EXHIBITION AT DOWNTOWN ART CENTER
Honolulu (July 8, 2021) – The Downtown Art Center at 1041 Nuʻuanu Ave, Second Floor is calling for artists to participate in an "Architects as Artists" exhibition in January 2022. The curators invite architects in Hawaii who are also active as artists to introduce their works to a larger audience. Registration for art submissions will take place from July 7 to September 1, 2021. To register, artists should visit downtownarthi.org/architectsasartists.

“Architects as Artists” will explore the sources of architects' inspiration in their work and art, and attempt to stimulate and deepen the public's interest and understanding for architecture and architects in Hawaii and Downtown Honolulu. Hawaii architects and architecture students based in Hawaii are eligible to submit their work. All mediums will be accepted, such as paintings, drawings, ceramics, sculptures, glass works, metal works, videos, photographs, and mixed media works. The registration fee to submit artwork is $100 ($50 for students). The exhibition is scheduled for public viewing Friday, January 14 through Sunday, February 13, 2022 in the Downtown Art Center's Second Floor Exhibition Space.
