Ala Wai Boulevard Complete Streets Virtual Meeting Scheduled For April 14

HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services is kicking off the Ala Wai Boulevard Complete Streets project with an online community meeting on Wednesday April 14, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. Complete Streets is the City’s policy to design streets for all roadways users, regardless of their age or ability.
Ala Wai Boulevard is a historical and significant street that connects residents, visitors, and businesses within Waikīkī to surrounding neighborhoods. In coordination with an upcoming repaving project, we have an opportunity to transform Ala Wai Boulevard into a safer street for all those who can use it, whether walking, using a wheelchair, riding a bike, taking public transit, or driving a motor vehicle.
The City requests those who live, work, play and travel along Ala Wai Boulevard to participate and provide input to help guide future design changes. The project Kick-Off Community Meeting will be held virtually and those wishing to participate may register at: https://rebrand.ly/CSAlaWai.
Comments are also being solicited on the project website:
