Construction started on improvements to the Civic Center parking lot

HONOLULU -- Work has begun on street-level waterproofing improvements for the Civic Center Parking Structure. Construction for the project is expected to continue through September.

The project is located in the Motor Pool and public parking areas of the Civic Center parking structure and will include the removal of the existing traffic coating, repair of damage to the existing parking deck, installation of new traffic coating, and provide waterproof at three planters. Four existing Monkeypod Trees will be removed to allow the installation of the planter wall waterproofing. These will be replaced with new Monkeypod Trees.

Working hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional work after hours from 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. and on weekends as needed.

Please be advised to use caution and observe all signs posted near the construction work zone. The work will take place on the street level of the Civic Center parking structure and will affect the street level Alapa'i Street driveway entrance, public parking stall numbers 23 -- 37 and 49 -- 54, and the motor pool parking area. The remainder of the public parking will remain open and will be accessible from the Beretania Street entrance.
