Traffic Advisory: Diamond Head Road Repairs



HONOLULU – The Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM) is scheduled to perform road pavement repairs on Diamond Head Road between 22nd Avenue and Kahala Avenue beginning Tuesday, May 26. This section of Diamond Head Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. All traffic including buses will be temporarily detoured around this portion of Diamond Head Road during construction work hours. Please be advised that only local area traffic will be allowed on this section of Diamond Head Road. Refuse and postal service will not be affected.

Weather and conditions permitting, work is anticipated to be completed by June 19. There will be no road construction work on King Kamehameha Day, June 11.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and use alternate routes. Please allow extra travel time and abide by posted traffic signs. Special Duty Honolulu Police Department Officers will be posted at the work site to assist with traffic control.
