Empty Bowl Hawaii 2019 to benefit Aloha Harvest

Empty Bowl Hawai`i is a unique event where hundreds of artists and chefs collaborate to support food security and end hunger. Each purchase to this unique event includes tickets to redeem soup, tasty bites, bread and a handmade bowl.  New this year, all attendees will receive 3 food tickets good for not only soup with bread but also a select few stations featuring tasty bites. In addition to the food guests will enjoy live music by Coyne Street, a robust silent auction and sticking with tradition guests will have the opportunity to select from thousands of beautiful bowls created by local potters and community members. Each bowl is meant as a keepsake to remind us of the reality that each day someone goes hungry and a bowl is left empty.

The Hawai‘i Potters' Guild started Empty Bowl Hawai‘i in 2009 as a biennial event in conjunction with their 42 anniversary exhibition at The ARTS at Marks Garage.  Since then, the event has grown to a over 5,000 bowl effort. This year's beneficiary is again Aloha Harvest, a non-profit organization that rescues quality, donated food and delivers it free of charge to social service agencies feeding the hungry in Hawai`i.  Over 21 million pounds of food have been rescued since November 1999.
