Kung hei fat choy!
Happy Chinese New Year! The lunar new year begins on February 5th, and it’s the Year of the Pig— a year of fortune and success! 2019 is a great year to make money, and a good year to invest. It is going to be full of joy, friendship, and love for all the zodiac signs; an auspicious year because the Pig attracts success in all the spheres of life.
Come down to the ARTS on First Friday as we celebrate Chinese New Year. Chinatown will be full of festivities, lion dances, yummy new year treats, and fun for the whole family. The lions will be visiting the ARTS so remember to bring your lay-see or lucky money!
Our lineup this month features the new exhibit "She Currents" by Ran Novek, and will continue the celebrations with HaHa Hawaii reminding us that laughter is healing. And we are delighted welcome back one of our favorites, On the Spot, with a special Valentine’s show called “Love Is…”. The beautiful ladies of the Love Cafe will round out our Valentine’s weekend. And if you’d like to try your hand at writing a love song or two yourself— check out Eunice Chang’s Redefining Songwriting Workshop on Feb. 9th.
We can’t wait to see you at the ARTS in February!
Wishing you an auspicious and joyful month,

Reiko Ho
