TASTE OF CHINATOWN FESTIVAL -- A FREE CULINARY AND CULTURAL CELEBRATION IN CHINATOWN

Head on down to the Taste of Chinatown Festival on Saturday, August 26th, 2017 - 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., for a cultural and culinary celebration in the heart of Chinatown. Sample tastings from the many new area chefs and eateries, browse hand-crafted artisan wares, participate in keiki and cultural activities or just relax and enjoy cultural demonstrations and entertainment in a park setting.

This year we will be featuring a "tasting pass" which people can purchase for a few dollars at our CID booth and then use to get discounts or special deals on featured plates at different food booths.

Tune in to KUMU and the CID facebook page for Tasting Pass give aways in the coming weeks!

Chefs from Artizen by MW, Downbeat Diner, Kan Zaman, Little Village, Pig and the Lady and Scratch Kitchen & Bakeshop will be on hand creating tasty small plates. Be sure to save some room for handcrafted ice cream, custards, shave ice and popsicles.

The event will start with a lion blessing and entertainment will continue throughout the day. Look for an ukulele ensemble in the morning, singer-songwriter Emi Hart playing around noon, a karate demonstration, and an extra special lip synch battle in the afternoon!

Keiki activities will kick off after the Lion blessing and include face painting, learning how to make Asian scrolls, and creating monkey masks to celebrate the year of the monkey.
