The Foreigner

by Larry Shue

Directed by Eden Lee Murray

This delicious, character-driven farce takes place in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia. Charlie Baker, a depressed and self-effacing British gentleman desperately seeks solitude. In order to guarantee the peace and privacy Charlie desires, his buddy introduces him to the locals as an exotic, non-English-speaking foreigner. The plan backfires, however, and soon Charlie finds himself at the very center of the madness, as nefarious Southern villains concoct outrageous schemes. The ingenious solutions Charlie and the not-so-halfwit that befriends him come up with are hilarious.
