First Friday April 3, 2015 at The ARTS at Marks, 5-10pm

Opening Reception for Contemporary Photography In Hawaii 2015 from 5-10pm. The exhibit will be on display April 3-25, 2015. This exhibit is the Seventh Annual Survey Exhibition sponsored by Pacific New Media, University of Hawaii at Manoa. Fifty pieces have been selected for this exhibit. An awards ceremony will take place at 6pm with a special Pacific New Media Juror's award with prizes including gift certificates from Hawaii Camera, Art and Design Framing, Halekulani and Kaimuki Camera. Music by DJ Mr. Nick and Kitchen Music Society featuring "The World's Smallest Beer Garden," on our little patch of grass in front of AMM with Kazu Kauinana's sculpture, "Pono". Also, check out the works of art from Generation of Smiles, our teen Spring Break program across Chinatown.

Regular Gallery Hours: Tuesday-Saturday Noon-5pm. First Fridays 5pm to 10pm.

The ARTS at Marks Garage is a community arts center with a 1,000 sq. ft. gallery, a 1,000 sq. ft. theater, and a 1,000 sq. ft. office space founded in 2001. Marks is home to 13 performing and visual arts businesses including Youth Speaks Hawaii and Hawaii Shakespeare Festival. 45,000 visitors attend 13 exhibits and 150 performances each year. Marks and HAPA staff co-founded Chinatown's most popular event, First Friday Honolulu and also manage Chinatown Artists Lofts providing 13 live/work spaces, and Chinatown Art Corps providing afterschool programming for at-risk teenagers.
