Haunted Garage 4-days of fundraising features

Rocky Horror Picture Show, Electronic Halloween Dance Party & Monkey Waterfall Cocktail Party

Hawaii Academy of Performing Arts (HAPA) presents its annual 4-day fundraiser: Haunted Garage - October 29 through November 1, 2014. Featuring 4 Movie-Screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, a Halloween Night Dance Party & a Day of The Dead Cocktail Party.

The ARTS at Marks, Haunted Garage presents 4-Nights Only of The Exclusive Honolulu Screening of your favorite cult film - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (RHPS) October 29 through November 1, 2014. Come see the 1975 Cult-Classic on our Monster-Sized movie screen. Interactive screening with live shadow-cast, bar, snacks & prop boxes. Costumes encouraged! RHPS runs approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. Interactive prop boxes will be available for purchase for $5 the night of. Movie Screenings Wednesday, October 29 - Friday, October 31, 2014 start at 8pm, Movie Screening on Saturday, November 1, 2014 start at 11pm. Doors open 30-minutes before each event. The Saturday Movie Screening may be purchased alone or as part of the Day of The Dead Cocktail Party package.

Haunted Garage: Halloween Dance Party (RHPS AFTER-PARTY) - On Halloween night, Friday, October 31, 2014, join us for the Haunted Garage: Halloween Dance Party featuring music by HNL-via-NYC deejays, Anton Glamb & Rooks Royal! This RHPS after-party starts at 10pm! Get ready to celebrate Halloween night in your most outrageous costumes and dance to some of the best underground electronic dance selections in the State. www.soundcloud.com/antonglamb and www.soundcloud.com/rooksroyal

Haunted Garage: Day of The Dead Cocktail Party (RHPS PRE-PARTY) - On Dia de Los Muertos, Saturday, November 1, 2014 join us for our Haunted Garage: Day of The Dead Cocktail Party with Monkey Waterfall and DJ Storm Trooper. This RHPS after-party starts at 8pm! This is our top-flight, premier, limited-seating, catered, full open-bar event with sugar skull crafts, Mexican Loteria (Bingo) and raffle prizes. Don't miss this chance to see Honolulu's favorite East/West, Mask/Puppet, Dance/Theatre Company followed by a 11pm screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show! Monkey Waterfall's Yukie Shiroma, Ben Moffat, and Michael Harada bring their art to the venue that first welcomed them home in 2000. As with all Monkey Waterfall shows, there will be masks, dance, and "cocky daring," with no promise of a coherent narrative, common sense, or viewer safety. www.monkeywaterfall.org

Shrines@Marks, a Dia de Los Muertos themed exhibition of shrines will decorate the gallery. This exhibit shows from October 21 through November 1, 2014. Gallery Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, Noon-5pm.

Haunted Garage is an annual fundraiser for HAPA and The ARTS at Marks Garage. Sat, November 1, 2014 Haunted Garage: Day of The Dead Cocktail Party: 8 - 10pm; $50 online, $65 door (Price includes pupus, open-bar, plus 1-admission to the 11/1 RHPS Movie Screening)

Sat, November 1, 2014 RHPS Movie Screening Only: Door 1030pm, Movie 11pm; $15 online, $20 door

Founded in 1997, the Hawaii Academy of Performing Arts (HAPA) is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to transforming community through the power of the arts and establishing Chinatown, Honolulu as the creative capital of the of the Pacific. HAPA manages gallery, performance, and business incubators at The ARTS at Marks Garage, live/work space at Chinatown Artists Lofts, afterschool programming for at-risk youth through Chinatown Art Corps, and community through First Friday Honolulu.
