Enjoy the Grow Hawaiian Festival!

Celebrate Hawai‘i's culture, native plants, and sustainable lifestyles at the Grow Hawaiian Festival on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Bishop Museum. The free event offers the whole family a day filled with activities, crafts, games, music, and food.

  • Learn how traditional artisans use native plants to make lei, carve implements, print kapa, and weave lau hala.
  • Attend a presentation on beekeeping in Hawai‘i by Ethel Villalobos, Ph.D., University of Hawai‘i Honeybee Project.
  • Sample Nalo Meli honey at the farmers' market and buy fresh produce and locally made products.
  • Buy native plants and talk to the O‘ahu Master Gardeners about growing them.
  • Have fun with your keiki, making crafts, attending the Sounds of Nature workshop, playing games to win prizes, and learning about conservation, clean energy, and electrical safety.
  • Marvel at Bishop Museum's exhibits, including the world of Doraemon, Japan's time-traveling robotic cat from the future.
  • Relax on the lawn and enjoy ‘ono food, hula by Hālau Nā Pualei O Likolehua, and music by award-winning musicians Nā Hoa and Holunape.
