Sheri Lyles presents her graduate thesis exhibition, Subtle Bodies, an exhibition of works in painting. Nontraditional materials such as turmeric, ash, sulfur salt, coconut oil and rose water are used to heighten the sensory experience of painting as a method of research of human desire. These materials are chosen for their inherent qualities and symbolic meanings that are informed by the artists personal experiences and studies of Hindu and yogic philosophical traditions in India.

The exhibition runs from Sunday, April 7 through Friday, April 12. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, April 7 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Commons Gallery.
