  • Windward Artists Guild - Plein Air Paint Out this coming Saturday at the Paliku Arts Festival 4/6/2013

WHAT: Plein Air "Paint Out" sponsored by the Windward Artists Guild (WAG) to be held as part of the festivities during the Paliku Arts Festival event at Windward Community College. Artists can create their painting "plein air" style at any location of their choice on the
Windward side that day.

WHEN: Saturday, April 6, 2013

1:00 pm š Deadline for artists to submit their plein air painting

1:30 pm š Judging of entries by Juror Mark Brown followed by awards presentation. Awards include $100 Best in Show, $75 Second Place, $50 Third Place and two certificates for honorable mention.

WHERE: WAG Booth at the Paliku Arts Festival Windward Community College / Kaneohe

WHO: Only work submitted by WAG members will be considered for awards by juror Mark Brown. New and renewal memberships accepted day of event at the Windward Artists Guild display booth or become a member at their website at www.windwardartistsguild.com.

About Windward Artists Guild
The Windward Artists Guild is a non-profit, volunteer, member guild, organized in 1960 by a group of Windward artists. Through education, collaboration, encouragement, and exhibitions, the Windward Artists Guild supports and promotes the production and appreciation of the visual arts. The Windward Artists Guild publishes a newsletter nine times a year.


Founded by Gini McCall, Rosalie Prussing, Lucille Cooper, and Betty Decker with the assistance of Juliette May Fraser and David Ash. There were 12 charter members. Began with an exhibit at the Windward Theatre, auctioning art for the benefit of the Castle Memorial Hospital.

    WAG (Windward Artists Guild) is a non-profit artists guild offering group juried exhibits, workshops, educational grants, and social opportunities with other art lovers. Founded by a group of windward Oahu artists (Gini McCall, Rosalie Prussing, Lucille Cooper, and Betty Decker with the assistance of Juliette May Fraser and David Ash) in 1960, its first event was an art auction to benefit Castle Hospital. The charitable roots of the foundation continue to today with grants to local art teachers and art events that increase interest in the arts.
