Exhibition Summary:
Brady Evans presents his BFA honors thesis On Fleeting Ground, an exhibition of drawings. The works are based on direct tracings of shadows cast on a sunny day in Mānoa Valley. Influenced by Japanese Zen painting and practice, Evans uses repetitious, almost meditative mark-making to build up, break down, and slowly transform the shadows. What is revealed is a once hidden world, one that may lie concealed right beneath one’s own feet. Evans is an undergraduate student at the Department of Art and Art History, University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
