PRESS RELEASE:
HawaiiSlam's First Thursdays celebrates the holiday season with a special "No Rules" slam on December 1, 2011. All team pieces, musical accompaniment, props, etc. are ALLOWED. These slams are designed to break the norm and push the boundaries of live theatrical performance. This event will not be a qualifier for the 2012 HawaiiSlam finals (to be held in April 2012).

The special feature for this show is Taimane Gardner, an `ukulele virtuoso who has been performing since she was a toddler. Since then she has toured Japan, traveled all around the mainland and has played for stars and corporations such as Pepsi, John Travolta, Steven Seagal, George Clooney, Konishiki and more. Her style of playing includes Classical, flamenco, rock, pop, and mood music. Her specialty is weaving genres and songs into one another from Led Zeppelin to Beethoven to Pink Floyd to the Ventures to Santana. As always, the night will be hosted by Kealoha, and will feature live painters, massages in the lounge, and a guest DJ who will provide turntable sorcery throughout the evening.

Fresh Cafe is located at 831 Queen Street (@ intersection with Cooke Street). Ample street parking and $4 valet parking will be available. Doors open at 7:30pm, and the show starts at 8:30pm.
