FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTES TO A NEW CLASSROOM
FOR NATURALLY HAWAIIAN GALLERY

Waimanalo, Hawaii -- Hawaii's Nature Artists Patrick Ching has just completed construction on his new classroom at Naturally Hawaiian Gallery thanks to the donations of several members of the community.

Naturally Hawaiian was opened in 1996 in the ruins of Charlie's Gas Station next to Mel's Market in the heart of Waimanalo. Ching transformed the weather-beaten gas station into one of the most beloved art galleries on Oahu. Since then artists, tourists and students interested in taking one of Ching's art classes have found their way to his doorstep to shop for handmade art and share in Waimanalo's famous country atmosphere.

It has been a long term dream of Ching's to offer the community regular art classes on a full time basis but the classroom needed work. So when Ching sent a call out to the community to help rebuild it, they answered. The new classroom includes new furniture, new supplies, a webcam and a new floor allowing for yoga and hula. Some of the new classes already being offered are Yoga, Sunday Ohana art classes, Free Hawaiian Language classes, Adult painting with Patrick Ching and Cartooning with Jeff Pagay. Also added, is a Pony Painting party that combines, kids, art, paint, and his famous life size fiberglass horse. Ching is currently looking for more teachers interested in teaching classes such as ceramics, jewelry making, hula and more.

"I am very glad that the community has allowed me to realize my dreams, and in a time when many art galleries are closing their doors, I am thankful to still be here, thriving and growing."
