The 4th official HawaiiSlam season rolls on with its monthly qualifiers at First Thursdays (December 7th, 2006). The op two poets will qualify for the HawaiiSlam Finals in 2007 that will determine the team to represent Hawaii at the 2007 National Poetry Slam in Austin, TX.

The special feature for this evening will be Buddy Wakefield, a two-time Individual World Poetry Slam Champion who has featured on NPR, the BBC, and HBO's Def Poetry Jam. He most recently signed to Strange Famous Records, completed a tour with Ani DiFranco, and still manages the Bullhorn Collective (a talent agency founded by Wakefield, made up of 30+ of the most accomplished performance poets alive). As always, the night will be hosted by Kealoha, and will feature live painters, massages in the lounge, and a guest DJ providing turntable sorcery throughout the evening.

Hawaiian Hut is located on the Ala Moana Hotel grounds, near the diamond head side of the Ala Moana shopping center. Doors open at 7:45pm, and the show starts at 8:30pm.
