Chamber Music Hawaii will present a program of great piano chamber music by Mozart and Dohnányi with guest pianist Thomas Yee, Assistant Professor of Piano at UH Manoa.

Three things to know about this program:

1. Legend has it that Mozart composed the "Kegelstatt" Trio, K. 498 while playing "Skittles", a game similar to bowling. The nickname "Kegelstatt" simply means Skittles Alley.

2. Mozart considered his Quintet in Eb Major, K. 452 one of his very best compositions even though, when it was completed and premiered in 1784, he had already composed nearly 40 symphonies and dozens of concertos.

3. Dohnányi's Piano Quintet in c minor, Op.1 was promoted in Vienna by none other than Johannes Brahms! Not a bad endorsement.
