Born in New York's SoHo district but raised on the beaches of Waikiki, I began baking cheesecakes at the age of 16. That year, I had traveled to New York City for the first time, where I visited renowned food establishments such as the Carnegie Deli and fell in love with New York style cheesecake. When I left, a friend handed me her Jewish grandmother's cheesecake recipe and wished me luck. The rest is history. Click on images below to get details on each cheesecake.
For the next few years, every Christmas thousands of cheesecakes were baked, boxed and delivered throughout the island of O'ahu, earning me the nickname "The Cheesecake Man". When I finished my studies at the University of California, Davis, I returned to O'ahu for the summer to bake my final cheesecakes in 1995.
Since 2008, I have been living once again in Hawai'i and am very proud to launch Hawaiian Cheesecakes. Using the same delicious New York style cheesecake recipe, Hawaiian Cheesecakes feature tropical fruit toppings with produce sourced only from local farms around the islands. Liliko'i (passion fruit) and coffee beans will come from farms on Kauai, O'ahu, and the Big Island. All of these local ingredients are prepared for your palate to experience. Every cake will be made in our professional commercial bakery and will truly represent a visual and culinary experience of Aloha!
