Downtown Art Center (DAC), at 1041 Nuʻuanu Ave., is pleased to host “Elemental Synergy,” a group exhibition on view in the Main Gallery from Friday, July 3 through Saturday, August 1, 2026. Curated by emerging curators Anika Kuntze and Kathy Chang, with support from independent art consultant and curator Allison Wong, the exhibition brings together works across diverse techniques and artistic media to explore the dynamic interplay of Earth, Air, Fire, Wood, and Water. Admission is free and open to the public Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

An Opening Artists’ Reception will be held on First Friday, July 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"Elemental Synergy" invites artists, working across a range of mediums, to interpret how primal energies coexist, conflict, and merge, reflecting the fundamental interconnectedness of all life. This exhibition brings together more than 20 local Hawaiʻi artists, including Lauren Hana Chai, Sally French, Juvana Soliven, Solomon Enos, Linny Morris, Chris Reiner and Nalani Sato.

“'Elemental Synergy' celebrates the forces that bind and move us,” the curators, experienced artists who are making their curatorial debut with this exhibition, noted. “Through ink, oil, and sculptural form, this show will reveal how the creative process mirrors nature’s own cycles of emergence and transformation, reminding us that, like the elements themselves, art thrives in connection.”

This exhibition brings together 22 local artists:
