DOWNTOWN ART CENTER HOSTS ‘FLASHPOINT – THE FIRE SHOW’ AN EXHIBITION BY THE HAWAIʻI VISUAL ARTS GROUP, OCTOBER 29-NOVEMBER 12, 2022
Downtown Art Center hosts ‘Flashpoint – the fire show,’ a visual arts exhibition with a fire theme, presented by The Hawaiʻi Visual Arts Group. The exhibition will be open for public viewing from October 28-November 12, 2022 at Downtown Art Center’s Main Exhibition Space on the second floor of Chinatown Gateway Plaza, at 1041 Nuʻuanu Ave., Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. On closing day, Saturday, November 12, gallery hours will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The exhibition's opening reception is planned for Friday, October 28, from 5:30 - 8 p.m. This reception is free and open to the public.

A First Friday event with live music by American Bluegrass band
Hook + Line is planned for Friday, November 4, from 5:30 pm until 8 p.m.

In this exhibition, a coalition of visual artists reunites, and invites a select group of fellow travelers to create works under the singular theme of Fire. Individual artists show regularly, but core artists and their select guests come together only once every three to four years.
Flashpoint is the sixth in an exhibition series established in 2003 that included visual arts exhibitions Multiple Personalities, Illuminate, Thirst, Dirt, and Lift.

Come explore the elemental forces of creation and transformation. Converse with the artists and experience their new works on view at Downtown Art Center.
