Downtown Art Center First Friday Presents -Hawaii Craftsmen Annual Statewide Exhibition 2022

Held annually since 1967, the Hawai‘i Craftsmen Annual Statewide Exhibition features a comprehensive selection of the finest traditional and contemporary craft from across the state of Hawai‘i. Our juror visits each island to make public presentations and select the very best work to be included in the exhibition. This year the exhibition will open on O'ahu and then travel to the Schaefer International Gallery in partnership with Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
Oʻahu Exhibition

This month, in the gallery, please join us for a reception for the Hawaii Craftsmen Annual Statewide Exhibition 2022! This is a juried showcase of 300+ incredible pieces from around the Hawaiian Islands.
Wine and beer will be available by donation.

In the Performance Space, see Portraits in Monochrome, which features the black-and-white fine art portraiture photography of master photojournalists Ed Greevy, PF Bentley and Floyd K. Takeuchi.

In the Courtyard Room, our tenants, Hawaiʻi Handweavers Hui, will be demonstrating how they weave and spin their incredible textiles. View the weaving process, talk story with the artists, and see the beautiful pieces they have for sale!

In our first floor retail gallery, DAC Art & Gifts, peruse unique creations by local Hawaii artists, and find the perfect gift for that someone special.
