  "Gathering Glass," which is sponsored by Hawai'i Craftsmen, is named both for the molten glass that is "gathered" onto the end of a blowpipe, and for the glass community re-connecting and celebrating at The ARTS at Marks Garage. This show differs from many of the annual glass shows hosted at Marks since 2003 by offering prizes, free entry, and return shipping for selected work shipped from neighbor islands. A retail opportunity and hot glass demonstration are also expected to be included.

  Exhibit - The Pegge Hopper Gallery
  Pegge Hopper Gallery presents a show of remembrance for beloved artist and friend Roy Venters who passed away on September 29th. Venters moved to Honolulu in 1971 and was a vibrant part of the art community. Known as the King of Hearts, his studio on Nu'uanu Ave helped with the artistic transformation of Chinatown in the early 2000's. A selection of works, photos and shared memories, will be on display in celebration of Roy and his art.

  Mark N. Brown at Downtown Art Center First Friday
  Mark is one of the few Plein Air Artists in Hawaii. Plein Air artists paint their paintings entirely outside at the site of the painting subject. He teaches this method at the University of Hawaii and his work can be seen all throughout the Hawaiian islands.
