Observing the Hawaiian Landscape

Artists Reception: First Friday, March 1, 2019 6-9 pm Wayne Christiansen, Bob Dusendschon and Yvonne Manipon

Exhibit Dates: February 26 2019,- April 12, 2019

Yvonne Manipon

Yvonne has been painting landscapes, investigating the unique quality of light, tex- tures, movement and atmo- sphere. All of her paintings are created on location "en plein air". Painting outdoors is in- vigorating and challenging for her. She enjoys the solitude, sounds, sites, fragrance, and drama of the outdoors. She is driven by the challenge of cap- turing directly onto canvas the essence of what inspires her.

Wayne ChristiansenI'm thankful to live inHawaii where there is somuch beauty. In my plein air painting, rather than faithfully render scenes, I try to capture ,with oil on canvas, the ambience; the energy and the wonder of the scene-the inspiration of being there at that moment.
