A Festival of Freaks and Phantasms - First Friday

October is here... time to celebrate with the spirits, embodied and non, in bottles and in people. Come on down to heart of Honolulu to join in the festivities.... Kava will be flowing, the music will be bumpin', and the dance floor will be filled with creativity. Show up for the art, and stay to dance the night away.

Music by:

Haole Kid and Local Boy Blues Project (HKLB)

With raw, energetic vocals, howling harmonica, aggressive slide guitar, and straight forward, driving rhythm, the Haole Kid & Local Boy Blues Project does not always color inside the lines, but they'll make sure you have a good time.

Quadraphonix

The Quadraphonix specialize in improvisational music that takes form as we play it live. Our music is based on the theory of free form jazz, which is freedom of musical expression. Within this expression, we showcase cultural music from our live experiences and our ancestry. Fusing Indian, Malaysian, Middle Eastern and Latin music with Western styles of Jazz, Blues and Funk is what we do best.

Ash Lilinoe

Ash creates soulful, healing music written from the heart. Her music has been self-described as "acoustic neo-soul meets jazzy R&B flowing with a bluesy reggae," and her songs are a journey in themselves, exploring what it means to love yourself and the earth around you. Ashley speaks about loving our Mother Earth, acknowledging our most basic, innate truths and caring for one another.

Art by Hillari Rose

A self taught artist is best known for her use of vibrant colors, bold flowy strokes, and dreamlike landscapes that explore the magical elements found in nature. She primarily uses acrylic paint on wood or canvas, and pairs her art with her husbands custom wooden frames. Her work is inspired by the colors found in the Rainbow State of Hawaii, expressive and energetic movements, and the animal aumakuas that symbolize family, freedom, and serenity.
