1st Friday Harvest at the new Ong King

Ong King is Back and better than ever! This November we are celebrating the harvest by sharing amazing music, delicoius art, and the history of downtown Honolulu. Come on down, and share the vibes, dance your booty off, and see artisitic expression like never before...

Music:

Time Putty - Psycheldelic Funk Rock jam band - get your groove flowing.

Broken Eagle Talon - The Sacred sounds of the Native American Flute

Phil Strauss - A singer/songwriter extrodinaire whose range will bring you to laughter and tears

The Hydrolites

Roots, Rockin, Reggae tunes from the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The Hydrolites band members are Bryce Lau, Ryan Trujillo, Ronson Shiigi, Jon Lance, Dan Kirihara, and Keo Skudlarick. With all band members choosing to pursue their musical interests differently at a young age, it's no wonder, when all together- put a familiar but unique touch to their music.

Oil in the Alley - This month features local improv rock legends- Oil In The Alley. Oil In The Alley have improvised over 400 songs live... In performance, the members of the band are always in character; there is no "improviser host" persona asking for suggestions. Instead, the rockers extract ideas for song titles from talking with their megafans in the audience and using ideas from clothing, turns of phrase, and anything else to inspire a song. They then extemporaneously create completely new lyrics to an original rock song as if it were a "Classic" hit from their heyday.

Moon Like Sun - Rock and Roll to shake your soul, get your feet moving, and blow your mind.

Art:

The Blaisdell Hotel Artists -

Our new location has a number of artists up in the studios of the upper floors. This month we are collaborating with them to bring you a varitey of artists and art, as communities can only work when they are supporting each other. Come on down, and see the sights that the old Blaisdell Hotel has to offer, and that the new Ong King is excited to be a part of!
