Hawaii State Art Museum

FIRST FRIDAY: THE BLACK REDS


The Black Reds (jazz three piece -- Martin Doluz on tenor sax, Kevin Holder on bass, James Ganeko on drums) will be playing cool jazz and ballads mixed with occasional up-tempo blues. Casual, family-friendly evening -- museum galleries will be open, including the "I Love Art" activity gallery. Second floor Sculpture Lobby (take the elevator or stairs to the second floor). Indoors. Seating will be provided.

First Friday is a downtown gallery walk held on the first Friday of every month. Galleries and museums, including the Hawai‘i State Art Museum, are open for the event which is free to the public.

Additional information: Sculpture Lobby (second floor, between the museum galleries); seating will be provided. Museum galleries will be open (entry and admission are always free), including the "I Love Art" hands-on activity room for kids. First Friday at HiSAM is a casual, family-friendly event.


Parking: across the street at Ali‘i Place (entrance at 1099 Alakea St.) or Iolani Palace.

ABOUT THE HAWAII STATE MUSEUM

The Hawai'i State Art Museum is located in No. 1 Capitol Distric Building at 250 South Hotel Street. The building is situated in the historic Hawaii Capital Cultural District, across from 'Iolani Palace and the State Capitol.
