ANDREW ROSE GALLERY is proud to present ON PAPER, the gallery’s first annual exhibition of artworks on paper by gallery and international artists.

Opening Friday, July 6, and running through Friday, August 24, 2012, the gallery will host a reception on Thursday, July 12, from 6 - 8pm and a talk with gallery artists on Thursday, August 23, from 6 – 8pm.

The gallery will be open to the public both First Fridays, July 6, and August 3, from 6 – 9 pm. ON PAPER compares new and never-before-seen works by the gallery s represented artists with specially selected art by internationally recognized artists.

The materials of all the works include paper as a support in an effort to not only present affordable work but also examine the properties of paper as an integral part of the creative process from drawing to printmaking to painting.

By juxtaposing local with international artists, the annual ON PAPER summer exhibition series endeavors to create a broader understanding of the place of Hawaii-based artists have in the larger dialog of art.

Artists in the exhibition include Charles Cohan, Frank Gehry, Philip Guston, Jasper Johns, Linda K ne, Ellsworth Kelly, Marcia Morse, Noreen Naughton and Andrew Rose. Images are available of select works for publication.
