On the second Friday in September, Live from the Lawn features Eddie Kamae and Ledward Kaapana in an extraordinary showcase, "Honoring Our National Heritage Fellows." The concert is presented in conjunction with two exhibition openings at the HiSAM. Kumu Kamaki Kanahele conducts the opening ‘oli and Senator Brickwood Galuteria will guest emcee.



The National Heritage Fellowship Award from the National Endowment for the Arts is the highest award bestowed to traditional and folk artists. 16 Hawai‘i artists and musicians have received this lifetime honor. This unforgettable concert features the 2011 recipient, Ledward Kaapana, and the 2007 recipient, Eddie Kamae, along with Mike Kaawa and the Sons of Hawaii.

2 New Art Exhibitions At The Hawaii State Art Museum - accession + GIFTED

The Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts unveils two new art exhibitions on Friday September 9th -- accession: Recent Acquisitions from the Art in Public Places Collection and GIFTED: Donated Works of Art from the Art in Public Places Collection.

ACCESSION and GIFTED highlight extraordinary recent purchases and gifts demonstrating the exceptional work collected by the Hawai i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts over the past four decades. Also featuring Ledward Kaapana as featured musical guest



All galleries of the Hawaii State Art Museum are open to the public during the event. Food is available from Downtown@ HiSAM and several vendors on the Lawn. This event is produced by Tim Bostock Productions and supported by the Friends of HiSAM.

ABOUT THE HAWAII STATE MUSEUM

The Hawai'i State Art Museum is located in No. 1 Capitol Distric Building at 250 South Hotel Street. The building is situated in the historic Hawaii Capital Cultural District, across from 'Iolani Palace and the State Capitol.
