Alex Zarella is an artist by nature and nurture.  She believes that she is blessed to walk the earth with the eyes and soul of an artist who was granted the privilege to 'live' with a Mango Tree for one year.  Her photographs share with you what she learned from that particular tree.

Gary Phillips has had a passion for photography his entire life, developed further by Navy travels for 21 years.   Realizing the American dream, he turned something he loved to do into an occupation.  Wedding and portrait photography bring priceless joy, but being alone with nature and having the opportunity to photograph our beautiful Islands is his true passion. “Is it a picture or a painting?” is a question commonly asked by those who view his images.  The answer is yes to both as these are digitally mastered photographs rendering the scenes into highly detailed, surrealistic works of art suitable for displaying.  They are archival and can be enjoyed for generations.

Marion Speers will be showing representative samples of her beautiful Stitched Art. Fabric creations such as: "Carp Diem" using art textile materials to render an impression of the changing textures and colors in a koi pond.  Also "Bali Pixels", where traditional Balinese batik is utilized in a thoroughly postmodern context.  Both have shown in the Honolulu Academy of Art (Linekona) annual shows.  Not all paintings are created with a brush.

Alida Farlaino is also back in the Courtyard.  She is a Hawaii born, but world traveled, photographer and artist who owns and operates her own small photography business called Farlaino Foto out of Kailua.  Her photography style is simple: showing ordinary things, in extraordinary ways.  She likes to shoot what she actually saw, as she saw it and believes that her view of the world is just different enough to keep her photography interesting.

Last minute additions are:

Shayne Turner will be returning with her custom made jewelery and Stephanie Bolton will be dropping in from the Big Island with her prints, cards, small paintings and will be painting on site.

Kate Wagner will be providing her Box dinners from the Starpoint CafО.  She always has some interesting pieces of art inside to view while you eat.   Some of the artwork is her own originals and some are contributed by her friends.

Fred Gayagas returns to the platform with his local style music.  He invites you to join him as audience or participant.
Enter into the Chinatown Courtyard on Smith Street through the stand of bamboo at the Blue Dragon Gate or from the Maunakea Street doors.  This event is free and open to the public.
