For merely four hours each month, well-known and emerging artists are showcased in the historic, red brick promenade and in the festive courtyard. The October One Night Stand features mixed media from three returning artists.

"Portraits of Survival : The Survivor Spirit" celebrates human triumph in the face of adversity. Over 50 Breast Cancer Survivors have told their stories though the lyrical portraits by James Anshutz Photography. Beginning its third year, The Portraits of Survival project continues grow and move people from within. These photographs let you in to the inner beauty of these amazing women and show the spiritual strength that each and everyone of us possess. A portion of these photographs will be shown at Chinatown Courtyard on the First Friday of October. These Images will be a preview of the book titled "Survivor Spirit" based on the project by James Anshutz, which will be unveiled October 19th at Neiman Marcus Ala Moana Center. Inspire. Support. Believe. Transcend.

Dr Spencer Hamada and Michael Creek will be returning to show their framed cast paper sculptures, which have the double appeal of sculpture with the visual warmth of watercolors. They will also be featuring some new work which promises to be innovative and exciting.

And in anticipation of Halloween, TAG will again be offering their “Costumes and Coffee in the Courtyard”. This was a big hit in September and new costumes will be on the rack in October. Come by and chat about their new play (The History Boys) opening that night upstairs in the Second Floor RED Brick Theatre.

In keeping with our Chinatown venue, Accupuncture & Herbs from China will be offering their exotic teas and lotions for sale

Fred Gayagas Fred Gayagas will be back once again to share his wonderful old and new Hawaiian tunes and interact with the Courtyard visitors. If you have an instrument or can hula, join him on stage!

Enter into the Chinatown Courtyard either on Smith Street through the Blue Dragon Gate or through the glass doors on Maunakea Street. This event is free and open to the public.
