September First Fashion Friday ~ “Transitions”

If you’re looking for the latest and greatest in Honolulu fashions, look no further than Aloha Tower Marketplace. Its next First Fashion Friday event is on September 5 from 6 p.m. in the Center Atrium. Admistion is FREE.

The next First Fashion Friday event will feature the theme “Transitions”—You don’t have to spend a fortune on separate wardrobes. Meet Honolulu fashion experts who will show you quick, easy ways to transition your look from day to evening, from casual to diva-licious, or transforming one outfit into several. Attendees will also learn makeup tips from a celebrity makeup artist.

Hugette Monesinos is the founder/editor-in-chief of Disfunkshion, a Hawaii-based magazine for young women. She has worked as a fashion stylist for several years in magazines such as Ocean Drive, Ocala, and Mujer, to name a few.

Nadine Kam is a journalist and blogger covering fashion, style, beauty and culture. She has served in many capacities over the past 20 years with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, from page designer to restaurant critic including her “Weekly Eater” column. While her official title would be style and travel editor, she continues to cover many areas and a year ago launched into the blogosphere with “Fashiontribe.”

Wendy Robin, a Hollywood celebrity makeup artist, is the creator of Studio W of Honolulu and Stargirl Cosmetics. With over 20 years of extensive experience in a full range of makeup techniques, she now shares her talents with all women. Her A-list of past celebrity clients include Matt Damon, Carmen Electra, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Billy Crystal, Lil Kim, Matthew Broderick, Frances Fisher, Tilda Swinton, Chad Lowe, Matthew McConaughey, Don Cheadle, Amy Madigan, James Earl Jones, Jack Black, Tony Curtis, Roger Daltry, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Delta Burke, Matthew Fox, Michelle Rodriguez, Ali Landry, Sandra Oh, Loni Anderson, Jaime Pressly, Raw Sun, Fiji, Simon Baker, and Mario Lopez.

“Last year, we let the world know that we have some of the freshest fashions in Honolulu,” says Aloha Tower Marketplace General Manager Carmen Magno. “Many professionals from downtown come here to eat at our award-winning restaurants, and end up staying to shop. It’s become a place to look hip, be hip, and have a great time.”

This series of fashion events, called First Fashion Friday, is a partnership between Aloha Tower Marketplace and the Hawaii Fashion Incubator. On the first Friday of August, September and October, the Marketplace is showcasing fashions, sales, style solution workshops, and more. There will be free goodie bags from CMC Medi-Spa and prize giveaways.
