Press Release:

GET WITH THE SPIRIT ON FIRST FRIDAY
“ALOHA FOR ALOHA” BLOCK PARTY SET FOR FRIDAY, MAY 2

Come on downtown and party hearty at the Aloha for Aloha block party on Friday, May 2, to help Aloha Airlines employees facing urgent medical bills and other needs. A full-on block party with great food, drink and entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. outside Murphy’s Bar & Grill along Nuuanu Avenue and Merchant Streets. Live entertainment and dancing, food booths, T-shirt sales and fond memorabilia will be part of the fun at the Aloha for Aloha event.

Aloha Airlines employees gave to the community in so many ways for so many years and now some are facing their own time of need. Proceeds from sales at the event will go to this worthy cause.

The Lokahi Giving Project will administer an Aloha for Aloha fund. Donations are taxexempt. For more information about The Lokahi Giving Project, or to make donations, go to www.lokahigivingproject.com.

The Aloha Airlines Employees Association, which was set up especially to help employees in need, invites you and everyone you know to come on downtown and have a great time, with your friends from Aloha Airlines. The event organizers wish to thank Don Murphy and the staff of Murphy’s Bar & Grill, Anheuser-Busch, Better Brands, Hukilau Restaurant, all of the contributors and donors, and Mayor Mufi Hannemann for helping to arrange this fund-raiser. Thanks also go out to Krash Kealoha, Mike Kelly, Billy V and Alan Yamamoto of Cox Radio, and to the IAM, AFA, ALPA and TWU unions.
