Active, spontaneous beautiful, the place is fresh and new, the time is ripe for LIVE ART NOW. First, the FIFTY FIFTY SKATE and SURF Collective, a young talented big ISLAND group of visual artists, leads the night...and then the SHOW the lead band is in from Maui, 'THE EASY' they are an amazing funk, rock, roots Hawaiian soul group. They are flanked by a SLAM POET of the NYC reality JON SANDS. Then, it is such a pleasure to mention, local bellydance group the SHAKTI DANCE MOVEMENT blesses the space with their original, mystic goddess truth. OH, and ELI CLemens starts the whole deal with ancient DRUMS sounding the Orisha chants of old with the entire Waimanalo crew. NEED I say more? OK, circus performers, MC SEE, DJ JOULZ......mmmmmm

SLAM POETRY: Jon Sands' poetry is a genuine look into the mind of a moment wrapped up neatly into an anvil, then dropped from a sixty story building.

An Ohio native, Sands now resides in New York City's legendary slam scene where in his first year of competition he captured a slot on the LouderARTS New York City slam team, then rip-roared his way through the national scene as a finalist at the 2007 National Poetry Slam in Austin, TX. A leading voice in the next generation of poetry, he has authored two chapbooks, In its Own Imaginative Engine (2006) and Being Human Being (2007). Blending youthful idealism with forceful passion and a drop of fire, Sands' work probes society and self in search of our most difficult answers.

LIVE MUSIC: THE EASY. Four years in the making brings us to today. The Easy is a dedicated band of musicians who play for the real love of music, bringing a sound that is island infused with influences of: Punk, Jazz, Ska, Rock and Reggae. The Easy music is led by FatBird who writes the words and music all by the sweet sound of his ukulele. Fierce percussion, dynamic electric guitar and steadfast bass transform these songs into a musical experience hosted by Sinew420. Come and enjoy The Easy's tour of leisure. ( playing also at Anna Banana's Jan 5th)

BELLYDANCE: SHAKTI DANCE MOVEMENT: A series of fundraisers was a tremendous success, and this unique group sent 6 dancers on a West Cost trip to train with legendary masters and perform on the international stage. Shakti leader Kalae K. highlights workshops by Heather Stants of Urban Tribal Dance Company, Colleena Shakti, and Rachel Brice as instrumental in her journey in teaching and learning how to transmit the feminine divine. Shakti's performance on the international Tribal Fest stage was a tremendous success that left the group with a deep sense of fulfillment and appreciation.

DRUM and CHANT: ELI CLEMENS: The way a hand touches the drum sends a resonance through the body, and some how you know a true master is in the house.

Eli Clemens is a roots Waimanalo brother who brings a wide background of sacred Orisha's that pulse the body and awaken the heart. He is surrounded by students and family, in a conga circle. The beat moves steady and strong. His voice is often joined by Sister Veronica and they lead the crowd in a call and response. You sense a natural free community.

DJ JOULZ: DJ JOULZ: “I have been mixing music for seven years now. I love all kinds of_music and sound. I dance and that has influenced my mixing from day one. We are united by vibration so make it positive and we all shall live in peace.”
