Brasserie Du Vin October Events

Three-Course Wine Dinners – Every Monday
Brasserie Du Vin presents an informal three-course wine dinner every Monday evening. $49 (plus tax and gratuity). Seating starts at 6:00 p.m. and reservations recommended. (Three-course dinner also available without the wine pairing.)

Monday | October 4
1st Course Salad of asparagus, grilled radicchio, crispy prosciutto and sauce maltaise
Paired with Lois Loimer, Grüner Veltliner, Austria, 2008
2nd Course Ahi tartar on taro chips with honey tangerines and a cucumber citrus vinaigrette
Paired with Chateau Bonnet Blanc, Entre-Deux-Mers, Bordeaux, FR, 2008
3rd Course Panko-crusted opah on a horseradish-potato puree and a clementine beurre blanc
Paired with Hancienda Araucano, Central Valley, Chile, 2009

Monday | October 11
1st Course Avocado gazpacho with a spicy crème fraiche
Paired with Famega, Vinho Verde, Portugal, 2008
2nd Course Braised short ribs with a mango barbecue sauce
Paired with El Chaparral ‘De Vega Sindoa,’ Navarra, Spain, 2008
3rd Course Roast pork loin stuffed with asparagus, red bell pepper and gorgonzola custard
Paired with Sierra Cantabria ‘Crianza,’ Rioja, Spain, 2006

Monday | October 18
1st Course Fresh arugula salad, roasted corn, tomatoes confit and lemon basil vinaigrette
Paired with Saumur Blanc, Loire Valley, France, 2008
2nd Course Crispy spring rolls filled with duck, caramelized onions, and smoked gouda, served with a cranberry walnut vinaigrette.
Paired with Fontannafredda Briccotondo, Barbera, Piedmont, Italy, 2008
3rd Course Roasted New Zealand lamb chop on a pesto-potato puree with roasted fennel, baby carrots, mint oil and sauce bordelaise
Paired with Leon de Castris, Salice Salentino, Italy, 2006

Monday | October 25
1st Course Deep fried soft shell crab over roasted Kahuku corn puree and a roasted bell pepper beurre blanc
Paired with Beaulieu ‘Picpoul de Pinet,’ Languedoc, France, 2009
2nd Course Pumpkin risotto served with steamed clams and mussels
Paired with Regis Minet ‘Vieilles Vignes,’ Pouilly Fume, France, 2009
3rd Course Bacon wrapped pork tenderloin stuffed with jalapeno and white cheddar, served over creamed spinach
Paired with Gauthier, Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast, 2007

Tasting Tuesdays
On Tuesday there is something delightful to taste at Du Vin – always delicious, causal and affordable!

Every Tuesday | For Wine Lovers – Half-Off Tuesdays
Starting at 6:00 p.m. until closing, select any bottle of wine listed on Du Vin’s extensive wine menu (excluding reserve bottles) and enjoy the bottle for half-off.

October 12 | Wine Tasting
A great way to learn about different wine makers and varietals. Themes change weekly. $20 includes tasting of 6-8 different wines and a cheese and fruit platter. Half-off appetizer menu also available to wine tasting guests. Seating at 6:30 p.m. and is limited. Reservations required.

October 25 | Raw and Radically Delicious
Four ‘raw’ dishes, including scallop ceviche, beef carpaccio, ahi tartare and oysters on the half shell. Paired perfectly with two wines – a sparkling wine and white wine. Seating is limited to 24 guets and reservations required. Starts at 6:30 p.m. $30.

Sessions @ Du Vin – Every Wednesday Night
Sessions @ Du Vin is a weekly showcase of live, local musicians. Performers change weekly. Music starts at 7:00 p.m. No cover.

October 6 | Mango Season. A musical trio with Curtis Kamiya on vocals and guitar, Annie Kamiya on vocals and percussion, and Matt Snow on vocals and bass. A blend of traditional Hawaiian music and R & B.

October 13 | Johnna Padeken. Soulful acoustic vocals and guitar. Johnna mixes it up with originals and covers. Some of the artists who inspire her include Sade, Kenny Loggins, Lauren Hill and Maroon 5.

October 20 | The Hotclub of Hulaville. With the talented Sonny Silva, his band and Ginai. A crowd favorite, presenting Gypsy and European jazz, along with classic American jazz and show tunes.

October 27 | Dennis Wilson Quintet. This group swings with classic jazz interpretations. Dennis Wilson on trumpet and cornet, Danny Caparoso on jazz guitar, Chris Roth on upright bass, Ethan Capone on piano, and Chuck James on drums.

Special Events

Saturdays | Open House with Ginai. The lovely and talented Ginai performs every Saturday at Du Vin. Each week she’ll be joined by different talented musical guest artists. Music starts at 9:00 p.m. No cover.
This month’s line up includes: October 9 - Kit Ebersbach October 16 - Pierre Grill October 23 - Bruce Hamada and Jim Howard

October 28 | Off The Wall: Phantom of the Opera (1925)
Join us for a silent movie shown on the patio wall. Screening starts at 7:00 p.m. Free. The story goes like this... A love story between the grotesquely disfigured composer known as the "Phantom" (Lon Chaney) who haunts Paris' opera house and Christine Daae (Mary Philbin) an opera diva. But of course, Christine loves someone else.

Saturday | October 30 Rogerio and Bernardo. Outside, the Downtown Halloween street party rages. Inside, these two popular musicians try to get spooky with Latin beats! Music starts at 9:00 p.m. No Cover.

Saturdays | Now Serving Brunch Menu
Every Saturday, starting in July, Du Vin will offer a selection of brunch items, such as Eggs Benedict and French Toast. Available with the regular lunch menu all day, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
