PATRICK’S BANNER AND FACE

Patrick Ching’s Artistic Insight:
Start You Water Deep and Dark.
pt4300.jpg
When I paint an ocean I like to “Build it” like Nature Builds it.
I paint the deepest things first like deep colored water or the ocean floor if you can see it.
I paint my sand and reef nice and dark because that is what is underneath. Most people are reluctant to paint the reef and water dark. They think they are ruining their painting. Then they see how great their dark ocean and reef looks with a transparent glaze layer of sky colored reflections on it. When ripples or waves stand up and face you then you can see into the deep. Generally, the closer or lower the ripples are, the larger they are.Wow, a new lesson learned. You will LEARN it if you DO it.

Patrick Ching Art and Naturally Hawaiian Products are now available under the same space as Sweet Home Waimanalo Café. Come see the new set up and please bless us by buying something like a print, book or some ono food. We are excited to be part of this new growth and you’ll be hearing more about it real soon. Our class room is going stronger than ever and Patrick will continue to visit our Princeville, Kauai Gallery and conduct painting workshops in Hawaii and abroad.

FEATURED PAINTING
“Mauna Kea Aloha”
pt4302.jpg
This 3’x5’ Original oil painting was made for my friends Aloha and Hank Gellert. It depicts Aloha’s beloved Mauna Kea in he distance and Hilo Bay in the foreground. It even has a hint of Hank and Aloha in it too. The Gellert’s unveiled this painting at a gathering at their home to celebrate their appreciation for friends and family.
