July 2010 Schedule of Events at Brasserie Du Vin

Three-Course Wine Dinners – Every Monday
Brasserie Du Vin presents an informal three-course wine dinner every Monday evening. $49 (plus tax and
gratuity). Seating starts at 6:00 p.m. and reservations recommended. (Three-course dinner also available
without the wine pairing.)

July 5 | Cauliflower Three Ways
Cauliflower and white truffle bisque with basil oil
Paired with Hedges CMS White, Columbian Valley, WA, 2008
Grilled cauliflower salad with shredded duck confit and a pecan balsamic reduction
Paired with Catena, Chardonnay, Mendoza, AR, 2006
Roast lamb chop with cauliflower au gratin and a bed of arugula
Paired with Millésimé, Saumur-Champigny, Loire, FR, 2005

July 12 | Salmon Three Ways
Smoked salmon chowder dressed with a dill oil
Paired with Ladoucette, Touraine, Loire, FR, 2006
Salmon cakes with a spicy crème fraiche
Paired with Zilliken Kabinett Reisling, Mosel, GR, 2008
Poached salmon with baby bok choy, carrots, potatoes, seafood consomme, salmon roe and Molokai sea

July 19 | Carrots – Start to Finish
Roasted carrot salad on baby spinach with feta cheese, endive and spiced walnuts
Paired with Château de Ségriés, Tavel, Rhone, FR, 2008
Braised rabbit and baby carrots on mushroom quinoa cassoulet
Paired with Château Marsau, Côtes du Francs, Bordeaux, FR, 2004
Carrot dessert three ways: carrot creme brulee, carrot gelato and a five-layer carrot cake
Paired with Justin ‘Obtuse,’ Paso Robles, CA, 2008

July 26 | Beef or Boeuf – Delicious Either Way
Beef carpaccio with shaved red onion, capers, arugula, manchego cheese, truffle oil and Molokai sea salt
Paired with Triennes Rose, Provence, FR, 2009
Seared bavette steak with oven roasted baby potatoes, wasabi greens and a roasted shallot beurre rouge
Paired with La Meridiana ‘La Gagie,’ Barbera d’Asti, Piedmonte, IT, 2006
Mincemeat pie filled with apples, golden raisins, dried figs and cherries with a spice caramel sauce
Paired with Crios malbec, Mendoza, AR, 2008

Tasting Tuesdays
Each Tuesday there is something delightful to taste at Du Vin – always delicious, causal and affordable!
July 6 & 27 | Half Off Bottles
This is a new promotion that will be offered only a few days a month. Starting at 6:00 p.m. until closing,
select any bottle of wine off of Du Vin’s extensive wine menu (excluding reserve bottles) and enjoy the
bottle for half-off. Can’t finish the bottle, let us re-cork it for you to take home.

July 13 | Wine Tasting
A great way to learn about different wine makers and varietals. Themes change weekly. $20 includes
tasting of 6-8 different wines and a cheese and fruit platter. Half-off appetizer menu also available to wine
tasting guests. Seating at 6:00 p.m. and is limited. Reservations required.

July 20 | Beer & Sausage Tasting
Tasting includes a house-made seafood, Polish kielbasa, bratwurst, venison with blueberries, smoked
duck with apple jack brandy, and lamb merguez sausages, which will be served with classic
accompaniments. Four different beers will be specially selected to go with these meaty treats. Seating is
limited to 24 people and reservations required. Starts at 7:00 p.m. $30,

Sessions @ Du Vin – Every Wednesday Night
Sessions @ Du Vin is a weekly showcase of live, local musicians. Performers change weekly. Music
starts at 7:00 p.m. No cover.

July 7 | Michael Tannenbaum and Nick Gertsson. Presenting an evening of jazz, slack key guitar and
Celtic-inspired tunes.

July 14 | Bernard and Rogerio. A different way to enjoy the World Cup, with some hip-shaking Latin
tunes.

July 21 | The Hotclub of Hulaville. With the talented Sonny Silva, his band and Ginai. A crowd
favorite, presenting Gypsy and European jazz, along with classic American jazz and show tunes.

July 28 | Dennis Wilson Quintet. This group swings with classic jazz interpretations. Dennis Wilson on
trumpet and cornet, Danny Caparoso on jazz guitar, Chris Roth on upright bass, Ethan Capone on piano,
and Chuck James on drums.

Special Events
July 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 | Open House with GinaiThe lovely and talented Ginai performs every Saturday
at Du Vin. Each week she’ll be joined by different talented musical guest artists. So far for the month
she’s lined up Jim Howard and Bruce Hamada on June 5, Kit Ebersbach and Ernie Provenshire on June
12 and Pierre Grill on June 19. The music starts at 9:00. No cover.

July 29 | Off The Wall: The Thief of Bagdad
This Arabian nights fantasy-adventure was one of the great productions of the 1920s. Douglas Fairbanks
stars as Ahmed the Thief – what he wants, he takes – until he becomes smitten with a beautiful princess.
Silent movie shown on the patio. Screening starts at 7:00 p.m. Free.

Saturdays | New Brunch Menu
Every Saturday, starting in July, Du Vin will offer a selection of brunch items, such as eggs benedict and
French toast. Available with the regular lunch menu all day, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
