June 2010 Schedule of Events at Brasserie Du Vin

Three-Course Wine Dinners – Every Monday
Brasserie Du Vin presents an informal three-course wine dinner every Monday evening. $49 (plus tax and
gratuity). Seating starts at 6:00 p.m. and reservations recommended. (Three-course dinner also available
without the wine pairing.)

June 7

Tasting Tuesdays
Each Tuesday there is something delightful to taste at Du Vin – always delicious, causal and affordable!

June 1, 8, 15 & 29 Wine Tasting
A great way to learn about different wine makers and varietals. Themes change weekly. $20 includes
tasting of 6-8 different wines and a cheese and fruit platter. Half-off appetizer menu also available to wine
tasting guests. Seating at 6:00 p.m. and is limited. Reservations required.

June 22 Frozen Foods Tasting
As the summer heats up, cool down with a unique frozen foods tasting, enjoy a selection of four frozen
desserts, plus a lemon sorbetto martini (vodka with a scoop of lemon sorbet) and a sparkling wine served
with a scoop of grapefruit-rosemary sorbet. Starts at 7:00 p.m., and limited to 24 guests. $30 per person.
Reservations required.

Sessions @ Du Vin – Every Wednesday Night
Sessions @ Du Vin is a weekly showcase of live, local musicians. Performers change weekly. Music
starts at 7:00 p.m. No cover.

June 2 The Art of Whimsy. A solo project of Nathan J. Emmans, the former lead singer, guitarist
and songwriter for the critically acclaimed Southern California Indie band, Soapbox Symphony. He
performs a range of musical styles from funk, rock, R&B, and jazz to hip hop, and reggae.

June 9 Curtis Kamiya. A trio made up of Curtis Kamiya on vocals and guitar, Annie Kamiya on
vocals and percussion, and Matt Snow on vocals and bass. Their sound combines jazz, popular and
traditional Hawaiian and rhythm and blues.

June 16 The Hotclub of Hulaville. With the talented Sonny Silva, his band and Ginai. A crowd
favorite, presenting Gypsy and European jazz, along with classic American jazz and show tunes.

June 23 Solmati. Presenting jazz and pop standards, along with ragtime music, movie themes,
classical and Hawaiian melodies, original songs, and Benny Goodman-style swing, The quartet is made
up of Ruth Shiroma Foster (piano), Duane Padilla (violin), John Gallagher(bass) and Norm Foster
(clarinet).

June 30 Dennis Wilson Quintet. This quartet swings with classic jazz interpretations. Dennis Wilson
on trumpet and cornet, Danny Caparoso on jazz guitar, Chris Roth on upright bass, Ethan Capone on
piano, and Chuck James on drums.

Special Events

June 5, 12, 26 Ginai and Friends
The lovely and talented Ginai begins performing every Saturday at Du Vin. Each week she’ll be joined by
different talented musical guest artists. So far for the month she’s lined up Jim Howard and Bruce
Hamada on June 5, Kit Ebersbach and Ernie Provenshire on June 12 and Pierre Grill on June 19. The
music starts at 9:00. No cover.

June 17 Off The Wall: Slapstick Masters: Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Monty Banks, Laurel
and Hardy
Presenting four classic comedies originating from the early 1900s. In Easy Street, Charlie Chaplin
transforms from a vagrant to a policeman. In One Week, Buster Keaton has his prefabricated home
sabotaged by his bride's ex! In Chasing Choo-Choos, Monty Banks attempts to get on a runaway train.
And in Big Business, Laurel and Hardy decide that July would be a good time of the year to sell ...
Christmas trees! This silent movie patio screening starts at 7:00 p.m. No charge and complimentary
popcorn.
