  • Official HawaiiSlam - Press Release: Another quality show coming on June 4th 2009

PRESS RELEASE:
First Thursdays continues its no rules summer with another quality show on June 4th. All team pieces, musical accompaniment, props, etc. are ALLOWED. However, the 3 minute time rule will still remain in effect.



The feature poet for this show is Marc Bamuthi Joseph. He is a National Poetry Slam champion, Broadway veteran, GOLDIE award winner, 2-time HBO Def Poet, and inaugural recipient of the United States Artists Rockefeller Fellowship. The New York Times declared his work to be "eloquent... seamless... and remarkable," and his one-man plays have toured through Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States. As always, the night will be hosted by Kealoha, and will feature live painters, massages in the lounge, and a guest DJ providing turntable sorcery throughout the evening.
