Special African Art Tours By Charlene Hughes at the Honolulu Academy of Art 5/19, 20, 21, 24

At the HONOLULU ACADEMY of ARTS:

I will be doing special tours called Tea & Tour on these dates May 19 (Tuesday), May 21 (Thursday) and May 24 (Sunday). Each tour will start at 2:30 PM.

This time the tours will be about African Art. The art work isfrom the Academy's collection and has not been seen nor appreciated for a decade.

The pieces that are being shown represent the diverse cultures from the world's second largest continent.; textiles and objects. You will learn something new! You must call the front desk at the Academy to reserve a spot for any of these tours. 532-8700.

Support this free website, let them know you learned about this event on firstfridayhawaii.com!

Also, I will be happy to do a tour for any special group that you belong to. If you will gather up 8-12 people and let me know your preference of time and date, I will be happy to docent it. Contact me at 808-595-3416.

This exhibit will come down on April 5.

This docented exhibit is free to Academy members and it costs $10.00 to non-members.
Find something in your closet that looks like it is African wearable art and wear it when you come to tour. (or jewelry or a turban or a purse--get wild)

Fond aloha,
Charlene Hughes
