Official HawaiiSlam - Press Release: Another quality show coming on July 3rd 2008  PRESS RELEASE:First Thursdays continues its "no rules" summer with another quality show on July 3rd. All team pieces, musical accompaniment, props, etc. are ALLOWED. However, the 3 minute time rule will still remain in effect.  The feature poet for this show is Danny Sherrard, the reigning 2007 Individual National Poetry Slam Champion. A product of Youth Speaks Seattle, Danny has taken the adult scene by storm with his kinetic imagery and language, becoming the youngest person to clinch the National Champion title at age 22. This year, he represented the United States at the World Cup Poetry Slam in Paris, France, where he clinched that title as well. His messages are truly inspiring and beautiful. As always, the night will be hosted by Kealoha, and will feature live painters, massages in the lounge, and a guest DJ providing turntable sorcery throughout the evening.Hawaiian Hut is located on the Ala Moana Hotel grounds at 410 Atkinson Drive. Doors open at 7:45pm, and the show starts at 8:30pm. Admission is $3 before 8:30pm and $5 after.
