Does a 1st Annual Tattoo Expo In Hawaii Excite You? / If It Does Your Support Is Needed!

We are spearheading Hawaii First Annual Tattoo Expo, with the help of State Representative John Mizuno. Hawaii is one of the few States that does not host a tattoo convention or trade show because of its State Laws..

The State of Hawaii - Department of Health mandates that all tattooing done in the State must be done in a permitted shop by a licensed tattoo artist. The tattoo artist license must be issued by the State of Hawaii- Dept. of health and good standing. both of these requirements are in HAR Title, Chapter 17, Tattoo artist, And HRS 321, [part XXX.] Tattoo Artists.

The only way for us to have an event like this, according to the State Health Department, is through 'modifying the rule through Legislation' and so here we are, asking for a Temporary Certificate or registration to be issued to our tattoo artists and allowing them to practice outside of a tattoo shop, in a trade show or convention style setting. So far we have passed all 3 committees at the State Capital, now its on to the Senate, your support for Bill #2283 is very crucial and greatly needed for the next scheduled hearings in mid March, We are almost there!!!

With your support, this event will not only be beneficial to the State in many ways, but to show case our tattoo artists passions, talents, expressions and livelihood. It will be a first of its kind ever held in Hawaii.

Please sign petition and check for updates at:
www.hawaiiinked.com

Follow the Bill go to:
http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/default.asp type 'Tattoo' in search box and look for Bill #2283.

Respectfully yours,
Jaz J. Pascua
Senior Producer
