2008 DEADLINE APPROACHES FOR LAILA TWIGG-SMITH ART SCHOLARSHIP
Limited number of scholarships from Hawai'i Community Foundation's Laila Art Fund available for visual artists to attend two summer programs



HONOLULU--January 28 and February 4, 2008 are the deadlines for undergraduate students, graduate students and practicing artists to apply for scholarships that are available from the Laila Twigg-Smith Art Fund (LAF) of the Hawai'i Community Foundation (HCF). The scholarships are intended for artists to attend the 2008 summer programs at either the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, CO or the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA.

The following eligibility requirements are required for applicants:
  • Be a legal resident of the State of Hawai'i
  • Be a practicing artist, graduate or undergraduate art student
  • Be accepted by the school for admission to its visual arts program
  • Not have received a previous LAF art scholarship to attend the same school

Preference will be given to scholarship applicants with financial need. Individuals may apply for only one scholarship per calendar year. Additional supplementary materials may be required by each school as part of the application process.

Scholarship seekers must apply directly to either the Anderson Ranch Arts Center Glass School. Applications will not be accepted at the Hawai'i Community

Each school will select the recipients and notify HCF of the awards. HCF will selection process.
