PRESS RELEASE:

First Thursdays continues its "no rules" summer with another quality show on June 7th. All team pieces, musical accompaniment, props, etc. are ALLOWED. However, the 3 minute time rule will still remain in effect.

The feature for this show is Bridget Gray (www.bridgetgray.com). She has been a featured poet on ABC's "Eye On L.A.", BET's "Lyric Cafe" and brought the house down receiving an extended standing ovation at her taping of HBO's "Def Poetry Jam". Bridget has also opened up for name acts such as The Black Eyed Peas, Joss Stone and Eryakah Badu. Finally, she has lectured and performed at numerous universities including Princeton, UCLA, and USC. As always, the night will be hosted by Kealoha, and will feature live painters, massages in the lounge, and DJ Oliver Twist providing turntable sorcery throughout the evening.

Hawaiian Hut is located on the Ala Moana Hotel grounds, near the diamond head side of the Ala Moana shopping center. Doors open at 7:45pm, and the show starts at 8:30pm. Admission is $3 before 8:30pm and $5 after. For more infor call 387-9664 or visit the links below
